چکیده

Abstract Background Beside its role in cholesterol homeostasis, Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin type 9 (PCSK9) has been associated with the processes of vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis. The protein is expressed endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells macrophages it detected inside human atherosclerotic plaque. Purpose We aimed to investigate effect acute plaque rupture injury during elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) on plasma levels PCSK9 patients artery disease (CAD). Methods measured PCSK9, C-reactive (CRP), Interleukin-6 (IL-6) high-sensitivity cardiac Troponin T (hs-cTnT) immediately before 18–24 hours after PCI via radial approach, 68 consecutive stable CAD referred for a de novo lesion native artery. Patients unstable syndrome <3 months old, baseline inflammatory condition, malignancy, auto-immune or femoral access, were excluded. Results All treated balloon angioplasty implantation second-generation drug eluting stent (DES). Baseline higher women statins. At procedure, CRP, IL-6 hs-cTnT increased significantly compared (table). change (elevation) CRP was statistically correlated that (r=0.33; p=0.006) (r=0.28; p=0.023). However, there no correlation between those (r=−0.09; p=0.47), (r=0.01; p=0.9), (r=0.1; p=0.41). Conclusions Plasma by 26% following DES. That elevation however, not degree myocardial (IL-6 CRP). mechanism underlying PCK9 post requires further investigation. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None.

Chronic Radiodermatitis Following Percutaneous Coronary Interventions

The incidence of radiodermatitis after percutaneous coronary interventions is rising with the increasing number and complexity of these procedures. This is a case report of a male patient with 3vessel coronary artery disease in whom chronic radiodermatitis developed following four difficult and prolonged coronary interventions. The skin eruption was characterized by a well-demarcated, atrophic,...

Bleeding avoidance strategies during percutaneous coronary interventions.

Bleeding avoidance strategies for percutaneous coronary interventions continue to evolve with the availability of newer antiplatelet and anticoagulation therapies. Advances in interventional practices have altered the balance between ischemic and bleeding complications. Bioresorbable scaffolds for percutaneous coronary interventions

UNLABELLED Innovations in drug-eluting stents (DES) have substantially reduced rates of in-segment restenosis and early stent thrombosis, improving clinical outcomes following percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). However a fixed metallic implant in a vessel wall with restored patency and residual disease remains a precipitating factor for sustained local inflammation, in-stent neo-atheros...
